J1 Summer Work and Travel/Bridge USA:
What is it?
The J1 Summer Work and Travel allows full-time university students to participate in a 4-month programme in the USA, working while sharing their culture and immersing themselves in the USA culture.
The aim of this programme is for cultural exchange purposes on a short-term work visa in the USA.
How to qualify?
- Students must be enrolled in a full-time university program.
- Students must have a GPA of 2.0 & higher.
- Have successfully completed 1 full semester prior to the visa appointment date.
- Must be studying at an accredited university in your home country.
- Must be 18 years and older.
Main documents required (additional documents may be requested)
- Status letter from your school
- Updated Transcript
- Passport
- Resume
Program fee.
- Sign-up fee is $5000JMD.
- Program fee is $1900USD.
- Visa application and flight is covered by the applicant.

Where will you work?
Applicants are placed in different fields in the hospitality industry across the USA. Some examples of job titles are:
- Park Attendants
- Servers/Server Assistants
- Line Cook/Prep Cook
- Dishwasher
- Bartenders
- Host/Busser
- Front Desk
